EPIC Commission and Western

For the past six or so months, I have been living with two other girls from the program, Ashley and Lindzi at the Pinefield Condominiums in Kzoo. I do "EC" days Mon/Wed/Fri. Mondays we have prayer for about an hour, scripture test (which I totally forgot about today, thankfully Momma G found the ones we turned in and I was able to study a little before the test, I think I did okay), and strong tower. Strong Tower is when us girls get together and talk about our weeks and how we've been and Pastor Eric usually gives us a devo in girl stuff, such as how to be better women of God and hot topics like dating and relating (which was today's). Wednesdays is prayer in the morning, and life lesson or student devo. Which reminds me, I have to do a student devo this Wednesday and I really should get started on it...I have an idea of what I want to talk about I just need to study and write it out. Fridays are prayer and then study table or meeting at Pastor's house. Study table is where we can work on homework that we have from EPIC school of ministry (ESOM) or from college.

Which brings me to the other part of EC is that students either have to work or go to college. I do both. I work at the daycare usually 8-9 hours a week. I also do 12 credit hours at Western. Here's what I recently wrote to Sara about life and going to Western, "I really don't know what I want to do at this point. At first I thought I might want to work at a preschool or open my own daycare because I really like working with preschool aged kids. But I think I also have a heart for teaching overseas after going to Japan. Right now my major is child and family development and I honestly don't know what I would do with it or even what you can do with it. It just seemed like an interesting major at the time and the class names sounded good. But now I'm starting to rethink and I don't really know if that's the direction I want to go...I'm thinking about maybe switching it to early childhood education and maybe taking a few ESL classes to see if I like them, but I don't even know if Western offers classes like that. I really need to go to a counselor and talk to them about it."

So that's my heart about Western and my future right now. I'm really interested in what Sara's doing over in Korea. It seems like the organization she went through is really good and she loves where she is working...I would love to do the same thing some day, I just need to do the prep time that comes with wanting to do something like that.
